Hi, I'm Dave Onkels, an American in my mid-thirties living in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. My wife Julie and I have two girls, Alexis and Amelia. I'm a full time entrepreneur making a living helping individuals and small businesses do spectacular things via the internet while working to grow several startups.
I’ve been working professionally since the age of 18. A large chunk of that time was at a fortune 500 firm (RadioShack corp) serving in several capacities over the course of 13 years including Director of Store Design.
After leaving RadioShack I founded the firm Identity Mark with my first client being my former employer. This successful design and marketing consultancy went on to serve many of the top brands around the globe including Bose, Sprint, AT&T, Sears, Costco, Best Buy, and more.
More recently, I’ve been cultivating several technology startups including Magntize, a web-based service that fills a gap in the consumer market for inexpensive, high-style personal websites which require zero technical knowledge to launch or maintain.
What I’ve discovered over the years is that I thrive in less-structured, highly dynamic environments.
Unafraid to break from convention, Dave Onkels is a highly passionate entrepreneur heavily involved in web applications and services. Having a diverse background in business, consumer marketing, merchandising, user experience design, and web development, Dave's expertise lies in transforming emerging web technology into low-friction, consumable products for everyday users.
Dave grew up in Minnesota and has spent his entire life living and working around technology. With nothing but handful of college credits, Dave used his tenacity and business acumen to land a series of key management roles at Fort Worth-based RadioShack Corporation. After 13 years in corporate America, Dave launched out on his own to start Identity Mark, a highly successful retail merchandising consultancy. Two years later he launched DotVita, a tech consultancy focused on web strategy, application/site development, and content aggregation. In 2008, Dave partnered with a team in the Dallas area to form Qmulus and launch Magnt, the first of several web applications under development. Magnt enables users to launch high-end personal websites on their own domain within minutes.
Dave lives in the Dallas area with his wife, Julie, and two daughters. He's actively involved in the Dallas/Fort Worth startup community and a member of the Dallas Founders Club.
